Laki-Laki Komunis Terakhir and my proposal
After all, director Amir Muhammad’s latest silver screen hit, “Laki-Laki Komunis Terakhir” (The Last Communist) has been hit by Berita Hairan before it could hit the silver screen.
As reported in the New Streets Times, Censorship Board approved it, Special Branch (SB) of Royal Malaysian Police, that had suffer heavily during liberation war of Malayan people against colonial masters and colonial puppets Communist insurgency has also approved it. The dissappointed SB dude even said the melo-drama-documentary is a bit boring.
Yet, thanks to Berita Hairan’s manipulation, his honourable Minister of Homely Affairs, Datuk Seri Radzi Sheikh Ahmad through his discretionary power banned the much awaited film.
Everyone lamented the decision as at best unwise and at worst, crazy. But let’s not forget, long before the production of this film kick started, Umno Youth had already wanted to ban the film. Under Khairy’s skippership, you need not watch it and understand its content, if something really needed to be banned. Masa itu emas.
But all that is history. Today, I have a profound suggestion that will settle this issue once and for all.
As proposed by Datuk Seri Utama Rais Yatim, Minsiter of Culture, Arts and Whatnots, who thought all Members of Parliaments are very free and doesn’t need to look after their business (such as a forwarding agency), MPs should be given a treat to watch Laki-Laki Komunis Terakhir before a voting is opened in Parliament to decide whether to reverse the ban.
I have a counter proposal. Why only the MPs ? Perhaps the Cabinet should consider screnning the show to all Malaysians, through RTM channel 1 if possible, and hold a referendum in which everyone votes to decide whether the ban should be withdrawn. To ensure proper understanding of the show before the voters going to cast their vote, repeats on other channels are encouraged.
You know why I trust my fellow compatriots more than our MPs ? I doubt they will watch it properly. As the saying goes, Miss Fong Po Kuan (YB Batu Gajah) and gang once thought Kit Siang our Ketua Pembangkang (Parliamentary Opposition Leader) should get a life, after 30 something years of writing daily statements. So they went to TGV KLCC for a movie, and guess what ? Kit fell asleep in the cinema !
Also, I have problems with the title. Whattheheck Laki-Laki Komunis Terakhir ? Doesn’t he know that Ketua Penerangan Keadilan Pusat is still live and kicking ? What an total ignorance and lack of respect !

Haha. Do u mean that Tian Chua barulah our last communist?
