Queen-controlled DPM Datuk Seri Najib tells us to change our lifestyle, let’s tell them, we want Regime Change!

We have discussed the ban on Laki-laki Komunis Terakhir in our entry dated 14 May, 2006, Laki-Laki Komunis Terakhir and my proposal, in which we suggested the ban be put to a nationwide referendum, which would be preceeded by a nationwide screening of that melo-drama-documentary that prepares voters for the referendum.

Today, new development takes place. Minister of Homely Affairs, Datuk Seri Radzi Sheikh Ahmad, who happens to be also Umno Secretary-General, announced that the issue would be brought up to Umno Supreme Council meeting in June.

According to him, the excuse for him to exercise his discretionary power in banning the movie, which was approved by Censorship Board and Special Branch, was “Umno members’ sentiment during Umno’s 60th anniversary in the month of May“.

Days ago, Menjadi-jadi published a so-called satire designed by a fellow stakeholder in an extremist Muslim version of Answering Islam site, which was meant for soliciting donations. The so-called satire called for destruction of Christianity faith, among others.

The Malaysian blogging public reacted passionately on this. Menjadi-jadi, now under fire, decided against my good advice to block Malaysian visitors’ access to his blog. To show solidarity to my fellow countrymen, I decided to self-impose a ban on visiting Menjadi-jadi’s blog, eventhough my Internet Protocol (IP) was not among the range he banned.

I hate to let this Menjadi-jadi dude occupy too much of my space. Yet, I need to discuss it slightly, from the perspective of equality among all religions, as well as the attitude of some extremists.

DAP won 6 seats, namely Pending, Batu Lintang, Kota Sentosa, Bukit Assek, Kidurong and Meradong. Keadilan Supreme Councillor Dominique Ng Kim Ho was elected in Padungan, while Engkilili went to SNAP. All 8 seats won at the expense of SUPP. Also, an independent candidate has won in Nyemah.

All the opposition wards fall within urban limits. As Advisor of Sarawak Solidarity Front (BBS), former Deputy Chief Minister Datuk Daniel Tajem pointed out, it is indeed ironic that, those who benefitted the most under BN’s “Politic of Development” rejected BN the strongest, while areas that have never gained anything under BN’s “Politics of Development” instead voted favorably for it.

Keadilan = Pas = Islamic State ? Nonsense…

The Ninth Sarawak State Election is approaching. Nomination has taken place last Tuesday, seeing all seats apart from 2 being contested.

Keadilan, Sarawak National Party (SNAP) and Malaysian Dayak Congress (MDC) have formed a Sarawak Solidarity Front (BBS). Thanks to an election pact, BBS components and DAP will not fight against each other, as disclosed by Wan Zainal, Keadilan Sarawak Liaison Chief in a press conference that I’ve attended, on Dec 23, 2005 in Hotel Istana, KL, on the sideline of 2nd Keadilan National Congress.

Meanwhile, Pas is also given a seat to contest in Beting Maro, and surely we must thank them for saving Keadilan from one more defeat. Maybe we don’t need to go that far, but a blogger just told me, “Hope they hilang deposit!”

So what’s the focus for this election? When we asked ourselves the same question prior to Pengkalan Pasir by-election last year, I knew what we want. We have to defend Malaysia’s only non-BN state government, which was a difficult challenge, given Pas’ mediocre track record, but we wanted to choose the lesser evil, and the keyword was “Democracy”. What about this time?

Sarawak politic is a battle without ideology. For ages we’ve seen BN legislators of different camps, usually divided along ethnic lines, fighting against each other for larger share of cake, in the forms of government construction contract or logging consessions, among others. The Ming Court Power Struggle Affair had nothing to do with democracy, mind you.

Few days ago, I chatted with Rajan Seri MENJadi-jadi, and this flee habitually turn our conversation into a brainwashing segment.

As usual, I would defend my stand, that is, equality for all regardless of ethnicity or faith, a state where the government does not ill-treat anybody. As expected, he advocates a system where a particular religion, not yours, not mine but his, is above everyone else. In his words, “There must be someone to dominate.”

He still cannot differentiate treating all faith communities equally from rejecting faiths altogether. He claimed that a secular system (any system that’s not dominated by his religion) is doomed to fail.

He also questioned why Christian laws (what he labelled as Christian Hudud :-) ) can be enforced in Vatican and nobody is complaining, but when Muslims want to implement Islamic laws, people around the world make noise.

When I pointed to him that people are not opposing Islam per se, but rather, the elements of torture within Hudud, just like they too oppose to death penalty and caning of our British common law, he vomited his shit of the day, “Hudud is not torture.”

If you are into cute and clean photos of young chics, here you go. I got it from another friend, who said it must be shared as it’s a great compilation that you should not miss.

We should really be grateful to those who put in much effort that make contents in the internet flourish. Kudos to whoever contributed much of their time and energy for our enjoyment ! Not for the hardcore lovers though.

Also, allow me to quote two friends who gave distinctly refreshing responses. First, Rajan Seri MENJadi-jadi, who said,

“Eh, next time tell me first if you wanna send me such content when I’m in daddy’s office.”
Second, my dear friend Kian Keat, who keeps the legacy of my old designer’s template alive,
“Wow, young meimeis nowadays are very brave !”

Since May 2005, the old template has been part of my life, rain or shine. She’s just like my concubine (of course my significant other is still my dearest, no doubt).

Based on a framework I found elsewhere, I gave her a major overhaul and I am proud to call her my first ever designer’s template. I tried viewing her with Internet Explorer and Netscape, apart from the Firefox that I usually use, and she displayed perfectly.

It took me almost all my onlining time for 3 days. And I love her very much, especially the background picture that stood still while scrolling. It was inspired by the short-lived lifestyle blog I had in blog.yam.com/shinshin.

Anyway, time moves on, so are we. It’s time to have a fresh start, after a long hiatus. Perhaps a new template will motivate me to write more eagerly. However, being so nostalgic I am, I retained a lot of the features in my old designer’s template.

Sejak lama lagi susah payah aku carikan gambar bulatan menara jam yang berdekatan warung keluarga makwe aku kat Kota Bharu tapi tak bertuah… Pagi tadi baru je ku bangun, ternampak Yahoo Messenger tengah blinking.

After all, director Amir Muhammad’s latest silver screen hit, “Laki-Laki Komunis Terakhir” (The Last Communist) has been hit by Berita Hairan before it could hit the silver screen.

As reported in the New Streets Times, Censorship Board approved it, Special Branch (SB) of Royal Malaysian Police, that had suffer heavily during liberation war of Malayan people against colonial masters and colonial puppets Communist insurgency has also approved it. The dissappointed SB dude even said the melo-drama-documentary is a bit boring.

Yet, thanks to Berita Hairan’s manipulation, his honourable Minister of Homely Affairs, Datuk Seri Radzi Sheikh Ahmad through his discretionary power banned the much awaited film.

Everyone lamented the decision as at best unwise and at worst, crazy. But let’s not forget, long before the production of this film kick started, Umno Youth had already wanted to ban the film. Under Khairy’s skippership, you need not watch it and understand its content, if something really needed to be banned. Masa itu emas.

But all that is history. Today, I have a profound suggestion that will settle this issue once and for all.

I love flags, always, all kinds of flags. Apart from our Jalur Gemilang, I love flags of British Columbia, Republic of China (even that I prefer DPP), Kelantan, Penang, Canada, the Hong Kong flag prior to its falling into the illegimate Communist terrorist regime, as well as our Keadilan and Pas flags. Seeing flags flying high boils my blood, be it on top of houses, or in the case of opposition flags, on top of trees, more so in a strong wind.

I haven’t really blogged about Rennie’s Mill (Tiu Keng Leng) before. It was a special settlement created by Hong Kong government for Nationalist (Kuomintang) soldiers and supporters after they lost the Chinese civil war in 1949 and escaped to Hong Kong, in order to avoid Communist reprecussion.
