Mona Lisa and The Da Vinci Code
Mona Lisa, some said it’s self-portrait of Leonardo Da Vinci. Some claimed that its name found its roots in Amon and Isis, god and goddess on ancient Egypt and Greek.
I’ve been indulging myself in The Da Vinci Code, the Danish Brownish bestseller. From Priory of Sion to Opus Dei, Holy Grail and Mary Magdalene, it’s really an automatic page turner. Or rather, the spirit is in me. There’s still much for me to learn about my own agama.
A fantastic novel not to be missed. Unlike Mona Lisa which may fetch over billion dollars, knowledge is free. It has been given to many, the latest being Tilia, and it’s still available for all of you. English in pdf and Chinese in doc. Please bear in mind that it’s meant for sneak preview only. Get the real book, if you have fallen in love with it, like me.
On the path of learning to learn something everyday

For sure, I’ve never intended to part of the worldwide ring of piracy. With or without my links, you equally may get the e-books of The Da Vinci Code easily. It comes in handy. However, hopefully it’s just for a sneak preview. Those who respect intellectual property and wish to enjoy a true blue Da Vinci Code experience should get the book. If you happened to be in Ba’Kelalan or Bario, too bad lah, be content with the “e” version first.
Let’s model after David Teoh, who bought a RM 120 hardcover illustrated copy of The Da Vinci Code. Dan Brown must be laughing all the way to the bank, as he has “Veni, Vedi, Vinci” your stack of hard earn $$$ !

I do collect books for my library related to my studies, most of the time hardcover books related to architecture… good for reference.
However on the Da Vinci code, I bought it at Big W which is like a Carrefour in Melbourne for A$25 which is about RM80. Yes I did say in the email RM120 but that is what the retail price is in KL last time I was there.
I don’t mind spending money on books, good books, which my (future) kids may want to read. Like, I wouldn’t mind owning a collection of LOTR books or Harry Potter books which a whole family can enjoy.
About people who feel it is ‘low’ distributing pirated books, I guess its about personal principles. From your tone, I feel you don’t think it is justified that the publisher and Dan Brown should profit from his books. However, I think it is justified that authors get paid for their creative work. Yes, I said it, WORK. They worked for this book. So in a way, by distributing their books in this manner, it constitutes some form of theft. But it is still your choice at the end of the day, and it is not my job to judge you.

Haven’t seen your e-book version, but if it is for ‘preview’ only, then it should not be more than a few chapters. If it is the entire book, then I think it is wrong.
I am no saint, I have ‘local’ VCDs etc, but just cos I do it (for whatever reason) doesn’t make it right.

It leave to the choice by reader. I often borrow books from library or from my friend. I did not buy it in the first place. Somehow, after i read the entire book, I feel the book worth for collection, then I went to bookstore and grab 1 copy for my bookshelf. Does it counted as theft when my friend lend his book to me? (the implication of reading free book?).
