My dad just called me. Among others, he has visited my blog, albeit just a short while.

He was busy as usual, had little to go through my entries. Some more, mixing up with writings of Farish Noor and the likes, he was confused if I was so capable of writing such masterpieces, hahaha. (To minimise confusion, all third party articles syndicated here have been moved to the Superb Stories menu…)

Instead of commenting on my entries, he chose to show his dissatisfaction regarding my design. Yes, especially the party logo, which he is very uncomfortable with. According to him,

“You should not position yourself as such…”

First of all, I don’t see a lot of party logo here, apart from those in the stickers identifying supporters among the bloggers I link. If they are fellow supporters, what’s wrong for me to identify them with a logo ? What about, asking YAB Datuk Seri Abdullah Badawi stop printing the Dacing logo next to names of their candidates on ballot papers ?

For me, party is important. Individuals are glued together by common vision for a better nation. In parliamentary democracy, unlike the presidential system, we need party’s machinery, apart from personal charm to win elections. Having that said, I am against personality or personalities-cult, you know, what they like to label us as.

Party being a gathering of experts in all fields is also a great pool of knowledge and experience in formulating policies and strategies. Such policies will be much more comprehensive as it’s beyond individual’s ability, as simple as that. The leadership that actually works is another factor too. Do we need warlords like they have in Umno ?

With or without the party logo, anyone who reads my entries knows where I stand. I need not and have never hidden the fact that the visions of Keadilan is very close to mine. For me, no other party in Malaysia matches Keadilan in terms of ideals, support and political will. But this do not mean I am against others. I am all for unity, or at least, better coordination.

Flag symbolises our ideals. If the Kuomintang remnants from ex-soldiers to ex-Legislators dare to raise their flags all over Rennie’s Mill (Tiu Keng Leng) along the year and even all over Hong Kong during October 10th, no reason why can’t we fly our flag here, in my country, in my blog.

I once asked the treasurer of Keadilan Antarabangsa Eropah, which flag does she prefer, with or without the red stripes. She told me the current. Yes, many might still harbour nostalgia on the good old days of National Justice Party, but I believe the current set up is the best ever !

Happy birthday to mama ! :-)
