Thinking who am I supposed to tag
Tagged by Rajan Seri yesterday, and Bob today, so I have no choice but to… Sorry I dissappointed you because there’s no bahasa rojak.
1985 : 20 Years Ago
My first trip to Bangkok and Pattaya. No such thing as Skytrain, MRT or elevated highway yet. The same Donmuang airport, the same rose garden and floating market. Innocent me didn’t know what was Patpong or Pattaya famous for, yet. Should have visited some gigantic Buddhist temples too, but can’t remember. You see, selective amnesia is common among political keensters.
Can’t really remember much of 1985. Don’t ask for too much from a kid. But one thing I am very sure of. Thank to my sensitive nose, have been visiting countless doctors. Emigrated from Bukit Mertajam to KL, we lived near Pusat Tarbiyyah Taman Melewar back then.
As Bob has mentioned, it’s the 9th General Election. Kua Kia Soong’s was running for our area, PJ Utara, but disqualified due to technical errors in his nomination paper. As a result, the seat went to BN’s Lim Kuo Phau who walked over.
The year when I was tripped off somewhere, and was rushed to HKL in the middle of the night. Waited for about an hour before consultation in A&E. Fractured both ulna and radius on my left forearm. The medic in HKL didn’t reconnect one of them correctly before he warped it up with plaster. When we went to SJMC for follow-up, it was realised that there’s this breaking point but oh owh, too late… Can play jongkang-jongket as the bone is not straight anymore.
Also the year when my myopia was severe enough to warrant me a pair of spectacles. Felt so uncomfy during the first few months, as if tonnes of rocks are piling above my nose. Power 150 on both eyes, while left eye also suffered from astig, a record I keep until today.
2000 : 5 Years Ago
Another fracture, this time on my left elbow, after football with friends on the night of Mid-Autumn Fest. Needed an operation to rearranged the fractured pieces of bones in my elbow. Plastered for another 6 weeks, no doubt.
Wanna go after Indonesian cutie, Sherly, who asked me to wait for a month. Upon reaching a month, she asked for another three months. Was it really such a difficult decision to make ? On my birthday, went to nearby cafe for cuppa coffee and cake with Sherly. There’s just one piece of cake so we took turns to feed each other.
Before the three months deadline comes up, met sweetie Wan Sin. At first I didn’t really know, but thanks to hints from friends who deduced her intention from the fact that she lepak in my place just to read my story books and listen to my CDs almost everynight… So it officially started on my mom’s birthday, but later she was angry that I shared a piece of cake with Sherly (eventhough it was before we started). My first real relationship that lasted for 1.5 years.
2002 : 3 Years Ago
Super duper unhappy after rejoined singles club. Started blogging after realised that my housemate then, Denise (Debbie a.k.a. Finicky Feline’s younger sis) chronicled in her blog that I bought the wrong flavour of Qoo for her one day.
Blog was named Music Love Story in the beginning. Went into hiatus for almost a year after a month of blogging, as I had run out of stories to tell. Only revived in late 2003 and addicted to it since then. If there’s one thing about my earlier entries, it’s my much higher standard of English those days.
2004 : 1 Year Ago
Running up to general election, a guy by the name of the Resident waged a blogging war at me. Classical example of reform-like but after all pro-BN kinda people, thanks to the Hudud law which our parti rakan espoused. Tiring days as hafta counter his attack every night. Budu said that the blogging war was chronicled by Sun / Edge photographer and blog-observer Danny Lim but I couldn’t find it anymore. Only aunty Azizah survived the election, after a handful of recounts.
Met many wonderful bloggers, first of all Nurul, Bob, followed by Razin, Ted, Habri, Budu, Suresh, Elfie, Zukri, Faisal… Also meeting Yasmin Ahmad, Sharifah Amani, Sharifah Aleya, Ng Choo Seong and his awek (in seductive blue Kebaya) and Janet Khoo in Sepet premier, Orchard Cineleisure, as well as Nurul Izzah, Sharifah Shahidah etc for the first time.
2005 : This Year
My fourth and final trip to our lovely negeri Cik Siti Wan Kembang. Went to East Coast by local (non-express) trains with ktmrailwayfan dudes. Stopped over in Gemas, Kuala Lipis, Gua Musang, Kuala Krai, Wakaf Bharu, Kota Bharu and Tumpat to visit the yards and depots, as well as the defunct line to Pantai Seri Tujoh. It’s such a wonderful trip I missed dearly.
Got to know talented cute bloggers Nur Syahirah (famous*) and Fadlyn Halim (*priority), girls who have endless of topics to chat with. Cheng visited Temasek and it was really the most enjoyable days I’ve had this year. You like the buffet steamboat in Marina Bay don’t you ?
Budu tied knots with Imaan. Met Azizah for the first time.
2006 : Next Year
Looking back and laughing at my old blog entries.
2015 : Ten Years From Now
Can’t forecast any. Hopefully there would be more LRT lines in Klang Valley, Penang, JB and other major urban centers, as well as a more extensive national railway network from north to south, east to west. Double tracking and electrification from Bangkok to Singapore should be ready. More probably these projects can be realised if it is Keadilan in power all the way since 2008
Salam Reformasi !
Now, the big question mark, who should I tag ?
I would like to tag… ermm… a lot… may I ?
