We don’t blame the illiterates or those with brain damage if they cannot understand issues. But if educated dudes still refuse to get the accurate information in this internet age, or opt to sing along lies, may God save them.

In response to an interview by Shahanaaz Habib of the Sunday Star, a pro-democracy blogger said,

Keadilan hasn’t been in the news lately, even in alternative media like malaysiakini and agendadaily. In today’s Sunday Star, Pemuda chief Ezam Mohd Nor said the party was deliberately keeping a low profile as it is currently weak..

Yeah, there are thousands of excuses when one do not participate or even be informed on what’s going on. But that is not going to stop the others from putting in their efforts in making things happen.

On national issues, stands have been made or actions taken, for example by Bung Syed on ANB, by Azizah on IPTA, by Anwar on why Bumiputra policy must end and that Keadilan is not after an Islamic state, by Dr Xavier Jayakumar on healthcare and water privatization, by Mike on corrupted and unprofessional police officers and many cases of death in custody…

On the local level, opposition to the Selangor Draft Structure Plan, fare and toll hikes of ferry and bridge, the dirty water supply in Negri Sembilan etc have been presented. Reports have been lodged and demonstrations staged for illegal destruction of houses and temples, in Sungai Udang, in Kayu Ara. Azizah and Low Choo Kiang have also assisted in the relocation of SJKC Beng Teik from town center to Bukit Minyak.

On the international arena, Saiful Izham and the Sungai Petani / Merbok Community Development Center team had been bringing the much needed aids to the Tsunami victims in Patani Darussalam on weekly basis, Bung Syed has been invited to speak about poverty in Asia at Hanoi, Faisal has been engaged by Human Rights Watch through Elizabeth to conduct a two-month investigation on the human rights of Patanese, Sivarasa together with others are now in the states, meeting Senators and Representatives, discussing and and making presentations on human rights.

And the list goes on… In fact, no other party in Malaysia has held series of dinners, meet-the-people sessions and seminars in Perlis, Kedah, Penang island, Province Wellesley, Kinta Valley, Lower Perak and many more places, all within matter of days. One could only feel the thrill and excitement had he been following.

Just can’t help wondering, why would someone feel that Umno-sponsored portal like AgendaDaily need to shoot themselves in the foot by publishing news about Keadilan ?

He confirmed critics’ worst fear when he said: “Many of our people are apolitical. They are simple people who just wanted Anwar out of prison. Now that he is free, they feel they have fulfilled their responsibility and they want to be on the sidelines.

If one reads what Ezam and Chee Chong told Sinchew, he will get a totally different picture. Yes, there have been some members whose ultimate aim is to set Anwar free. But that constitute just a small percentage of membership. Most of them including Anwar himself knows what Keadilan is fighting for. Membership application is flooding the party office, if you ask Jasmine.

In fact, with the exodus of dormant or unenthusiastic members, the party’s synergy will be better reflected, as the kaca are filtered away from permata. As long as Malaysia is still short of justice, freedom and equality, Malaysians need Keadilan. I see no reason why shall Keadilan throw in the towel when we are still haunted by draconian laws such as ISA, UUCA and PPPA.

With the declining of Malay and Chinese majority seats, I am more worry about how are those parties that are unpopular among non-Muslims and Malays respectively going to survive. Will it be easier to realised a free and fair Malaysia if we turn back the time to when there were nobody trying to bind the two main opposition forces torn between communual lines and Malaysians stuck in the deadlock forever ? You guess.

So, how is Keadilan going to make itself relevant for the next elections? I don’t think even its president knows.

I know whether aunty Azizah knows, because I just spoke to her in one of our fellow blogger’s wedding dinner in KGPA weeks ago. I guess it’s those who make baseless presumptions that contributes nothing to purge the corrupted dictatorship in Putrajaya.

Another more rificulous comment comes from a lady who has difficulty in distinguishing the difference between “Many of our people are apolitical. They are simple people who just wanted Anwar out of prison” from the party’s 17 points core principles.

Don’t ask me if she really have problem in understanding it or simply likes to spin. However, I can guarantee you that the 17 points contained in the Matlamat Perjuangan are not going to be altered just because some idiotic comments have been uttered…

Is PKR thinking of disbanding and joining UMNO?

I would suggest her to go through the Constitution, in which the chapter 36 reads, “Party can only be disbaned when it is agreed by all delagates in the Congress”. If it’s better for Malaysia to do without Keadilan, you caring Malaysians better submit a proposal to the Supreme Council.

Those who are in the dark, go and read what Ezam and Chee Chong have actually said. The articles on Ezam and Chee Chong are also syndicated in this blog.

Until we meet again, salam reformasi !
